engine swap
 

I have a 92 accord ex, when I bought it the guy I bought it from said he put a 94 engine in it. Its a F22B2 but I got to looking and some of the parts look like they came off of the stock F22A6. What should I do about this?

There are many things that can "interchange" on these motors.

I'm with poorman, is everything working properly? If it is don't fix whats not broken.

With a lot of engine swaps its easier to use some parts off the stock engine to maintain the same sensors and such.

I didn't know you could do that. The only thing wrong is the IACV. But I'm going to fix that soon

"Usually" a good cleaning of the IACV and the port to it will resolve/fix them? Worth a try.....cost is only a can of carb cleaner and a bit of time?

Is there a certain way of doing it so nothing gets messed up?

Not really.... Remove it, some replace the o-ring and others just reuse the old one.


Spray the heck out of the thing once off....get the port(s) where it "seats" to the tb. While there the TB is looking you in the face so I'd at least give it a quick cleaning....both sides of the butterfly and that.....an old toothbrush and a rag will make quick work of it.

Reinstall, me I'd "burp" the cooling system as there are some small coolant lines going to it. Remove the fuse to the ECU for ~ a minute. Install fuse. Start car, let it idle - don't rev it up and down....just let it idle until it gets to op temp. Shut it off. Make sure everything under the hood is back where it was/needs to be. Take it for a drive and see what you got?
