F20b swap problem
So I have just recently put a f20b into my 97 accord and I'm using a chipped p28 ecu and when I go to try start it my check engine light stay on and continue to stay on after I turn the key off an I can't figure out why. So looking for some advice.

Have you tried getting the code from it? That would be step number one.
|
Yeah it ended up being the ground and a bad coil. And now it's like two or three teeth out of time and won't let it start. So once we get it in time hopefully we will be good to go.
|
Ok so I got my mechanic got it in perfect timing and still won't start any ideas to what maybe causing the issue?
|
What is missing....spark or fuel?
Also, did you get any codes? |
Nothing is missing it will just hit but won't turn over which is why we thought it was out of time. And yeah I got codes off off of it with the old ecu and it was a grounding problem which we fixed but since I put the new chipped p28 in it I haven't Bcz it's a obd1 and I wasnt sure if I could still use the obd2 or not and pull a code.

Is it possible to have the dizzy 180 out Bcz someone had suggested that to me?
|
Distributor will only go in one way.
What distributor are you using and where is the crank position sensor? Plug wires on in right order? Have you checked for spark? |
I've been told that it's possible to put the distributor 180 out, but you have to force it into place. Easy to rule out that possibility...
Remove the distributor and look at the blade on the end of the shaft. Notice it's off-center a bit. The slot in the end of the camshaft if also off-center. Once you SEE the off-center position of that blade & slot, just make sure they're positioned properly. |
Ok well thxz guys and it was a stupid rookie mistake we had a few wires mixed up. So now it's starting but when it starts it automatically begins to rev. What's so causes of this?
