F22a1 beast?

So I was wandering if there is any company's out ther that make a cam for the awesome f22a1 SOHC motor I'm looking for more higher rpm torque so far i have had no luck finding one yet

clutch811 04-20-2009 10:06 PM

yeah there's a company called bisimoto that makes cams and other parts for your motor. go to bisimoto.com and check it out. you might wanna consider a cam gear as well cause i think youll need a tune. which will also require a computer upgrade. do you have any other mods? just for reference, whats your car year and model?

Jmoney 04-20-2009 10:36 PM

1991 honda accord lx 2 door 5 speed has header down pipe full exhaust and SRI

live2rice 04-20-2009 10:37 PM

Bisimoto is the only way to go. They made 300whp out of a N/A F22.

Haha, haterade, nice lol. you know honestly you can make some N/A power with a cam and tune but if you wanna get at those b16's the swap wouldve been more practical and powerful. just my two cents lol. although id like to hear how your cam turns out. if you really wanna woop em, get some internals and raise compression. then you would have a beast. none the less best of luck.

I would like to see how much work you would have to do to have a 200-220whp on an N/A f22a. Anyone else built up a f22a besides bisimoto?? I think we should start a parts list for f22a N/A builds. What combo's are making what power an ect. just a suggestion

Jmoney 04-21-2009 01:22 PM

I will list parts I start throwing into the F22A I am soon going to purchase 11.5:1 or 12:1 pistons and steel connecting rods for the build and see if there is anything I can do with my intake manifold to get more air flowing through it.

Are you gonna be useing pump gas?? Geting in the 12's is pushing it for pump. Is your build gonna be a track motor or street?
You can use h23 mani for some more flow

Jmoney 04-21-2009 10:27 PM

its going to be 98% street and yes i want to keep pump gas in it.

FWIW..You can also use parts from the f22a6...such as the a6 intake manifold, which has by pass valves.

Jmoney 04-21-2009 10:50 PM

im really looking foward to do this I think once the cam and stuff comes in im going to start on it im sure i can barrow my moms jeep for a while lol it would keep me out of trouble and my car would feel super fast after driving a turd jeep for a while. Oh and say I just did the stage 2 cam for now do you think i will need to get a new ECU? or anything of the sort I can time it right im sure of that im just not to sure on how its going to run after i get that done. and can i do my valve springs without removal of the head? i have the adapter to blow air into the cylinder and my neighbor has that spring tool that squeezes the spring together

cjdm98 04-21-2009 11:03 PM

You would probably want to get a standalone ECU, wich allows you to map everything out from scratch, after your cam upgrade..and other mods internally that you have stated.

Unless you plan on drastically changing your air flow characteristics, a piggy back will suit you just fine.

Jmoney 04-23-2009 09:22 AM

So if I do the cam just for now I'd be good with just the stock ECU and no tune?

live2rice 04-23-2009 09:28 AM

I would ask them, they should tell you if it works with a stock ECU.
