If there is nothing wrong with the f22a6 head your better off swapping on the f22a1 block. All f22 blocks are IDENTACAL (with exception of f22c) just the heads are different.

The f22a6 has the better cam and valve train. So it would be fewer headaches if you just simply swapped the head vs. pulling the cam out. Either way you will spend money (if you do it right) B/c you will have to replace gaskets either way. Better insurance to do a head gasket over intake and exhaust gaskets IMO. An if you can do a timing belt and water pump job at the point it wouldn’t hurt either (if they are close or overdue for changing of course)

You will need to swap over the f22a6 ecu
You will need to swap over the f22a6 down pipe

yeah i had seriously thought about swapping the heads out but i believe i have a burnt valve in no 1 cyl actually lemme ask u this at idle and low to mid range rpm i have a nasty misfire and smokes badly once i hit say 3500 rom or better she smoothes out and runs like a champ what could be the issue now i have changed plugs wires cap rotor basically switched all that from my lx engine cause i knew it was all good and thought just needed a tune up on the ex motor but still same thing what do u think it possibly could be
