f22b
I have a 91 accord ex. the title says ex-r. but the deck lid just says ex. what's the difference. also the motor says f22b. but everythign i have found out is that's not the year of motor for that car. waht would be the correct motor? also i want to soon but a dohc vtec in it any suggestions?

91 ex should be a f22a4. Are you sure you don't mean f22b1 or f22b2?? B/c if you have the f22b then you have the dohc 92-96 prelude si engine. I would build up that one and not worry about vtec.

the block code just says F22B, but the valve cover just says vtec. i don't think it's dohc. i'm puzzled

If it said vtec then it's not a f22b it has to be a f22b2. It's a sohc vtec engine that came out of a 94-96 accords. Some one swapped the engine in it's not stock. http://got-jdm.com/images/F22B9.jpg ^^^ thats a dohc f22b http://www.honda-tech.com/attachment...1&d=1234769372 ^^ that's a sohc f22b1 |
would it be possible to put a dohc head on it? i double checked the block it just says f22b. but it does not have dohc? do you think somebody swapped heads?

h22 dohc head on a f22 sohc vtec block , read it , good stuff |
f22b1 is vtec
f22b2 is non vtec |
It's pointless to do a g22/23 set up unless you raise your c/r with new pistons or unless your gonna boost it. B/c your not taking advantage of the h22 head other wise and it’s a waste of a head swap and you don’t gain power on a stock f series block.
