With those mods you wouldnt have much choice but to run a chipped ECU. The stock one won't run a hybrid engine with an upgraded cam and different intake manifold too well.

I guess it would be ideal if it was all done at once, not only because it would be physically easier, but also because then the tune could be specific for exactly what you can.

You can have someone make you a basemap and send you the ECU online, but its not going to be exact.

You sure its $400 for the head? Have you checked car-part.com? I paid less than that for my entire engine. Maybe you should just look for an entire engine and take the head off it.

So I guess doing it all at once seems best. I gotta do more research though. I learned the basics by myself- changing out parts. But these things I have to learn a lot more about and perhaps Ill collect the parts I need over the next year and then start once I have everything collected. But I really don't know much about car computers.
What is a basemap?

A company like phearable.net will put a tune on the chip based on the engine you have and the mods you have. But its more of a guess, to make it ideal you would need to bring it to someone local to you preferably with a dyno and have them fine tune it.

Sorry to through this in here but I have a question. I have both an f22a1 as well as an a4 and i was wondering which head you would recommend using in this type of setup?
