Suggest first checking timing alignment to make sure that engine crankshaft/camshaft timing is aligned.

If good, then turn keyswitch to On and listen for fuel pump to come on for 2-3 secs and go off. Check Engine Ligt (CEL) should go off at same time.

If you don't hear fuel pump, then Main Fuel Relay (MFR) or fuel pump sticking are likely. Confirm whether MFR is delivering power to the fuel pump.

If you hear the fuel pump and no-start continues, then spark is likely missing.

Check that distributor is getting 12V on Blk/Yel wire at the connector to the distributor. Lack of 12v would suggest an ignition keyswitch assy fault.

If you're getting power to the distributor, then ignitor or coil are likely source of lack of spark.

See following link for testing of ignition.

good luck

hey thanks for the help. It ended up being a loese wire. the bad news is that i have a bent valve thanks to the machine shop:mad::mad:. Isnt that just great.

The machine shop did not bend the valve,,it happens when the timing belt breaks and the piston hits the valve out of time. Good luck on the next repair.

The timing belt didn't break. I only replaced it because I had everything off as I was doing a head gasket. My head was fine until it came back from the machine shop.
