Female Accord Owner Needs Help!
I have a 2001 Honda Accord. I've gotten all of my work done as needed since I purchased the car brand new in 2001.
Tonight I drove about 1/4 mile from my house & parked the car for 2 minutes. But when I got back into the car & turned the key in the ignition, my entire car vibrated/shook violently for about 15 seconds simultaneously while ALL LIGHTS on my dashboard lit up (engine light, emergency brake light, doors/trunk open light, seatbelt light, etc). I turned the car off & tried again 2 more times, but got the same results. I finally waited about 3 minutes & when I tried to start the car, I immediately put the car in drive hoping to avoid the same problem before I got moving - I was able to get home with no problems. I even tried to turn off/on the car at my house & didn't get the problem again. As a female who doesn't know much about cars, can someone please tell me if this was just a fluke or if there is something specific I should be getting checked out? I just wanna be somewhat "in the know" if I have to take it to a shop Monday. PLEASE HELP! |
My suggestion, stop by a parts store (autozone, advance, several others) and ask them to scan for any stored codes in the computer. If there are any codes, get the actual number- a "P" and four digits, like "P0420"- not just their description.
Also ask them to test the battery, while they are doing this, ask them if the cable connections on the battery are tight. |
