h22a swap
 

I have a '90 accord ex, I want to put an h22a in it, any info on what car i can get the motor from and what parts and mod are rquired to do this? Any info would be greatly appreciated

If you wanted to take the engine from another car, you would need to look for a 93-98 Prelude. Or you can go to one of many websites/dealers that will sell you a JDM h22a. Now the 90 accords came with f22a motors, which are essentially SOHC/lower compression versions of h22a, this means the engine mounts and the wiring is exactly the same. You will need to replace the half shaft drive axles with prelude axles, or any aftermarket type designed for such swaps. And depending on the emssions regulations in your location you will also have to use the h22's emssions components. Now you will have to replace the ecu, some people use the one for an h22a, but a better idea is to buy an aftermarket one such as one from Hondata. It ain't cheap, but since you are probably also going to be adding other performance mods, the reprogammable hondata units will be very helpful. You will also need to use the h22a transmission, since the f22a had a slightly larger flywheel, and thus will not propely fit.

I'm in Nova Scotia Canada, we don't have emmission tests. so thats all I need to do the swap, the motor, tranny, ecu and halfshafts?

i need this info too lol i would also like to know around how much it cost someof u guysto buy and installyour engines with/without the new transmittion.

I would like to know this information so i know what im getting myself into thanks to anyone who can post this info too

Im not positive, as I havent done the swap, but I dont think the motor mounts are in the same spots. I believe one of them is a little off. But like I said, Im not positive.

for cost of install you should call local shops, thats going to be the only way to find out what you would have to pay

check www.Honda-Tech.comthey have all the info for the H series swaps in accord. I have an H22A in my accord and you can use all the same mounts except the driver side mount. Other then that you can use all the stock accord parts, well most of them. I used everything from my F23 motor. Oh and by the way, you will be glad that you did the swap. I am.

For those with Accords from 1990 thru 1993...log onto www.cb7tuner.com It's a website dedicated to everything to these model Accords, and only these models, so no misleading advice form those boys with the newer Accords. Sorry guys :P

You will need to find this information out on your own as it has been posted and done before many times. As far as the information above, the mounts are the same and the axles do not need to be replaced.

what about any earlier models of Accords? I have an 88 accord w/ carb. Is it possible to put an h22a in this model accord?
