Need some advice. I have a 2006 accord with a 4 cyl. Head Gasket is leaking I have head lose but the timimg chain guide is keeping it from coming out. Do I have to take timing cover off or what.

Which gasket is leaking, the head gasket or the cam cover gasket?

Head gasket

Timing chain must be removed from camshaft sprocket. This requires removal of crankshaft pulley, timing covers, etc to access the chain.

I don't know of a short-cut, but I have seen folks suspending the chain and pulling head over chain (in other models, not Accords!). Sprocket/s w/ chain would need to be removed to enable this feat. No easy matter there either. You might check youtube for this option.

You need a shop manual before doing anything. Suggest checking w/ automanualsource.com for a download manual, $22 a bargain.

good luck

I got the cam sprocket bolt off and sprocket is hanging out of way, but the chain guide is attached to head and I figured it whould slide up with the head and its not, cant find much on u tube. Might get that manual. Thanks
