Timing chain must be removed from camshaft sprocket. This requires removal of crankshaft pulley, timing covers, etc to access the chain.
I don't know of a short-cut, but I have seen folks suspending the chain and pulling head over chain (in other models, not Accords!). Sprocket/s w/ chain would need to be removed to enable this feat. No easy matter there either. You might check youtube for this option. You need a shop manual before doing anything. Suggest checking w/ automanualsource.com for a download manual, $22 a bargain. good luck |
I got the cam sprocket bolt off and sprocket is hanging out of way, but the chain guide is attached to head and I figured it whould slide up with the head and its not, cant find much on u tube. Might get that manual. Thanks
