Default Head swap

I have a 94 accord lx and was wondering if there is a way i could take a head off another motor , one with maybe better port design or bigger ports or maybe smaller combustion chambers. I just want a better head that i might be able to rip off another car. If not do u think it would be worth having my stock head worked on by a machinest

Have you thought of why you want to do this?

Yeah you need to decide that. The H22 head swap will cost a decent amount of money. Maybe around $1000 or so just to be safe. It also will make the car unreliable. Sometimes stock things should be kept, unless you are a hardcore car modder. Judging from your post it doesn't seem like you are. I'd say if you wanna rip another car I would just sell the car and get a car that comes fast factory built. Therefore you don't have to do anything but pay and the car is reliable till it's dead.

Anything aftermarket can make the car even slightly unreliable. I'm not saying it will blow your engine but it's certainly a big change to your car that you need to research A LOT to make sure your car doesn't die on you.

I may be crazy but I think you can grab a head off the EX model, that would give you the SOHC Vtec which is an extra 5-10 HP I think.... anyone prove or disprove this theory?

dont know off hand, but if you take the head and intake manifold and have them ported and improve the flow you would get more out of it, but arent the ex and lx the same hp? or is this just a comparison to the non vtec?

EX has a higher HP and Torque about 15HP and 17Torque over the LX, or DX models, but the same engine displacement, that's why I was thinking that most of it has to do with the head since they are both F22 series motors.... check out this handy little engine list I use....
