Help me
1st Time Foreign Car Owner
Purchased a 1995 Honda Accord Last March. The Day After I Purchased the Vehicle (from a Private Seller-$2,000) I Took the Car on the Freeway and the Car Just was NOT Acting Right, The car would drive good then after about a mile or 2 the car would STOP excelerating.Long Story Short, Trans was Replaced (After Car sat for about 8months) We purchased a used trans and the car was working fine for about 3 months. Well here I am 1 year later and again, the car is doing what it did before. THIS Time I was told that the Front Pump is bad. My Question is-Can this be replaced and if not where can I buy a Trans that is Worth the $ and I know I will Never get the Amount of $ that I have already spend but if I replace the trans (again) would it be worth it to sell the vehicle?? Any insight would help me tremendously. THANK U |
Simple question: If you replace the transmission (or have it professionally rebuilt), will the car be better than anything else you can buy for the cost of the transmission replacement? Most likely the answer is "Yes", and if so, then your cheapest way to a descent car is to have the one you currently own fixed.

Ok, So Keep the Car :) Good b/c I Really LOVE My Car. So If I Have a Mechanic Rebuilt the Trans, How Much am I Looking to Spend??
|
How much? Depends upon lots of things (what's wrong with the transmission, labor rate for your local shop and/or prevailing labor rates in your region).

For giggles, can you get a second opinion?
Just me but I find this a bit strange. Don't get me wrong, things happen....but two bad trans in a 5th gen? Was the D4 light acting stange,,,,like it stayed on when you put the car into park? |
