Help - Shift from P to R or D and no movement

Have a 95 4dr Accord - 4 cyl automatic - 170K
Starts up no problem, shift from P to R or Dand feel transmission engage but there is no movement. Think it's the driveshaft, as there doesn't seem to be a problem with brakes, trans fluid or any other quick diagnoses...has anyone heard or no what this problem could be? Any help would be appreciated!

Could potentially be an issue with your CV joints too, although a transaxle problem is more likely.

Does the engine rev when you shift it into gear and hit the gas a little? Inspect your drive shafts and see if they are moving or if they have come out/loose a little bit, does the dash indicate the gear?

I have rev'd the engine and it doesn't do anything. I did see that the dash does indicate when it goes into gear. I haven't had a chance to go underneath and check the drive shafts. Any gear D, D3, D4 and R do not work, but the transmission does catch.

put it on d4 and rev it and see if your speedometer goes up if it does then it might be the driveshaft or clutch if not i would be saving some money to rebuilt the trans
