honda 4th gear
 
have a 93 honda accord ex when the outside temp is below 88 89 degree it shifts into 4th gear with tach around 26 to 27 1000 rpm @55 mph when uotside temp is 90 or so it shifts into 4th and tach around 23 to 24 1000 rpm any help would be many thanks

Let me see if I understand this.

When it is less than 90 degrees, it shifts into 4th gear at 2600-2700 RPM.
When it is more than 90 degrees, it shifts into 4th gear at 2300-2400 RPM.

Is this causing your car to jerk forward? Or are you just curious as to why this is happening?

sorry i got that backwards the hotter the temp the less rpm which is great the cooler temp less fuel milage it only gets 24 mpg just want to know if there is a sensor gone bad or what if i cannot get better fuel milage i do not need the car it gotta go
