Honda Accord 16 EX-L V6
 

My new Honda Accord has this weird knocking sound that is similar to a diesel engine. I brought it in for inspection multiple times and the mechanic told me it is absolutely normal and the engine perform to specs. I don't hear the same sound on a similar Accord. Does anyone have a similar problem? What could this sound be? See video.

Hard to tell....recorded sounds are not that easy to identify.

First thing I would do is go to the dealer and listen to another '16~'17 Accord v6.

This could just be the sound from the injectors - Direct injection does have a different sound to it. I have a '16 Pilot, basically the same engine, and it does have more of a "tick" to it than the older ones.

I compared it to similar Accords and they were quiet. I noticed the sound comes on when the engine is hot and louder while idling.
