Honda Newbie

I just got a JDM F22A for my EX 91 accord. This would be my first honda swap. And my first time seeing balance shafts.

At this point I am trying to replace gaskets at the bottom right hand (intake side) corner of the block which seems to have been a oil leak on the JDM ( The original enigne had a leak here as well )

The oil pump balance shaft is what I am worry about I am trying to get the Balancer driven gear off with out damaging the teeth. I dont have the SST But I do have alot of other tools I was planning on using an impact and holdingthe gear by hand with a rag.

In the picture below I tap the area with the black arrow with a Hammer to try to get the oil pump free guessing that the balance shaft would come out with the oil pump ( I guessed wrong) I didnt hit the pump super hard ( being that the casing is alum. ) but either to break the oil pump free which it did but I couldnt could not turn the "Balancer driven gear shaft" (the picture uses that name for the device I am talking about) easier until I tap the oil pump back against the block after doing that it turns freely again.

Do you think I damaged the Balancer driven gear shaft by trying to take off the oil pump with out removeing that gear? Again I didnt hit it (the oil pump)extremely hard with the hammer. As of now the Balancer shaft spinns with ease and freely.
