there really isn't tooo much you can do to solve the J30a lack of torque problem. it is a byproduct of the following

1. small intake valves
2. only 1 intake valve opens when vtec is not engaged

edit there are things you can do but that involves doing things like changing out crank, pistons and heads.....and that ain't cheap

Just a minor correction. Both intake valves open in low-VTEC mode, but one opens just slightly to prevent pooling of fuel and to enhance the swirl effect in the cylinder. As far as the power goes, it might as well be closed.

I'm just simplifying the discussion that's all asI am well aware that the second valve opens just enough to prevent fuel pooling at the valve.....but for the purposes of engine performance it is just one valve open.

i still say get a high volume air compressor and direct port it and let it go full blast ^_^
