I think this should be under the engine section...

So I've found the idea of a turbo diesel appealing and I wanted to stick with Honda. Unfortunately the N22A/B are only found in japan and europe.
It may just be a pipe dream but I would love to have a diesel accord. But the specs weren't all that great. 0-60 in 9 seconds? 130 hp? With a turbo already in there I didn't like what I was seeing. Anyone know much about these? Am I missing something?

Just maybe in the future I'd do an engine swap or might as well just move over seas.

Turbo diesels can be really nice. I've rented a VW Passat TDi when I was in England - really liked it. But I've never driven a Honda diesel.

EVERYTHING is slower in UK/Europe. Except for the price of fuel. They pay so much for fuel that they give up the FAST FAST cars.

Yes but this is a 2.2L so it can't be so bad. I'm just confused as to how a 4 cyl turbo diesel can only have 130hp

Because Diesel engines are all about the Torque not HP.

If diesel didn't smell so much, I would think about owning one..

So are there any advantages to having a diesel rather than gas engine?

I know they're great with MPGs. Its appealing to me but would that be something worth pursuing for an engine swap or even importing the whole car or should I settle for something else? I really like the Accord Si.

No not worth it at all.

Buy a TDI VW if you want a DIESEL.

Don't try and reinvent the wheel.

FYI - my last tank of gas was 36 MPG - that is on my 97 4 door

512 miles on 14 gallons of No-Ethanol @ $3.56 per gallon

If you import a Honda diesel engine, you'll always have problems finding parts and/or repairs.
