Idle fluctuation and check engine light
 

I have recently purchased a 2000 Accord EX V-6 w/98k miles. Today when I started it, the idle started fluctuating between about 1200 and 2000 rpm. It would occasionally stop that and settle at about 1200. I thought maybe driving it would make it go away, but it didn't. Then, the check engine light came on. Should I assume that these are related?

First, go to AutoZone and have them read the Check Engine Light codes with their OBDII code reader. They will do this for free. Get the exact code number and post it here.
