More stroke? Supercharger?

baconsum1 02-21-2009 03:06 PM

anything that i can bolt on that dosn't involve turbos or superchargers(not ready yet)

clutch811 02-22-2009 01:14 AM

well you have pretty much all basic bolt ons so far except a header?? headers on a four can weaken low end torque some but probly not much IMO. if your tryin for fastest acceleration youre probably gonna be revving high where the header will make a difference. your power gains might be limited but once again if youre focused on acceleration dont forget about weight. weight loss can help. what about NOS? lol

baconsum1 02-22-2009 11:04 PM

well i don't think my engine is ready for nos yet. im 50/50 on getting the header because some say get one and some say don't get one.

clutch811 02-22-2009 11:29 PM

you could technically run NOS with your stock engine you would just have to run a small shot. as for the headers i say go for it. its gonna let you rev through the power band quicker and pull power faster, plus you should see some hp, torque improvements. now on a long shot you could always try those aem power pulleys if they make them for your car.

baconsum1 02-23-2009 08:14 AM

ight i'll look into that. thanks for the suggestions.my honda is your honda.(but u can't drive it)

jcocker03 02-23-2009 02:21 PM

what about replacing the cat with a test pipe(as long as you don't have emissions testing where you live)

finch13 02-23-2009 02:25 PM

Torque? Honda? I don't think those two words can be put in the same sentence together.

unless you plan on getting an 09 with the 2.2 diesel-supposedly 150hp and 260tq

i thought it was supposed to be avilable in the U.S. pretty soon?

finch13 02-23-2009 02:39 PM

Yeah that diesel was supposed to be on some 09 Accord's, but it never happened.

What?? My K24 is torquey as balls!!.... For an i4 that is lol

baconsum1 02-23-2009 07:26 PM

if i have a test pipe will get pulled over out here.. i think i roll with the header and then sway bars and then i might start messing with the throttle body

clutch811 02-23-2009 11:10 PM

its technically illegal in all states i believe but not all check. watch basically for e-check and such. i dont recommend it instead they do make high flow cats which apparently give similar results. not much gain to be had anyway. sounds like a plan though. good luck!

jcocker03 02-24-2009 11:52 AM

yeah im pretty sure the test pipe is illegal in all states, but if you live somewhere like WI where they don't emission test you only get pulled over for exhaust if its "louder than normal". As long as your not stupid enough to tell the cop you have a test pipe instead of a cat your good to go over here.

and test pipes are cheaper than high flow cats

baconsum1 02-24-2009 01:04 PM

na im from CT and we got emissions and sound patrol so im gonna stay waway from a test pipe. thanks for the input. i'll post new pics when im kited up so u guys can see what your building
