Manual Transmission Oil Check Questions

Hey first of all, hi everybody.

I have a question. I have a 1990 LX manual transmission.
How can I check how much transmission oil I have left? how do I know if I should put more oil into it? How can I add more oil to it?

Thanks

RE: Manual Transmission Oil Check Questions

on the transmission towards the firewall roughly just above the half shaft (cv axle) there is a bolt that is either a 14,15 or 17mm I believe, back that bolt out, stick your finger in, the tranny fluid should be just up to the base of that opening. That opening is also where you add more tranny fluid (Honda MTF only...)

Here's the tranny case. Just to get your orientation, the right-side axle goes in thru the#14 seal.

The fill bolt is #15, it's about the same elevation as the axle. It's got a wide flange & it looks clearly different than all the other bolts (which hold the case together).
