Max natural hp 98-2002?
Hello everyone,
I would like to buy a accord coupe of this year and I am just wondering if I could get the engine to 300hp without a blower or turbo. I plan on putting one of the two on but I want to know what the engine can do naturally. Thanks to all who answer. |

if you mean you want an 08 coupe the v-6 this year has 268 horse. i dont know any thing to give you 30 horses other than a super charger or a turbo.

unfortunately the exhaust collectors are cast into the cylander heads so that really limits your options.............
thankfully I have the older 3.2L and headers are good for 32hp alone lol [:P] S/C or turbo has to be custom made for that car |

the 98-02 has 200 hp your talkin alot of money to get it to 300. turbo , intake, exhaust, headers, just to start.

I don't have to get it to 300 I was just asking what it could do natural "without" turbo or a blower. I don't know much about the engine so I am just wondering whats out there for it.

the best you can do on bolt-ons is about 35-40 HP.........one of the MAJOR limiting factors is the small valve size of the J30a
headers and axle back = 25 hp intake about 10 hp CL type S cams about 5 hp |

K series ftw. I think some dude on k20a added two modifcations to the block (type s IM and exhaust), kpro and that led to something around 250whp. just rebuilding the engine w/ stronger internals, etc. could possibly land you in the ~270 whp range.
k swap ranged from 800 (k24a4) to 1000 (k24a2) to 1200 (k20a2) EDIT- but i disgress.....w/ your 2002 accord making 300.....i say go FI or Nitrous. |

The J30A1 could do 300HP NA, but as mentioned, it would take a lot of money ..... and it wouldn't really be a J30A1 anymore after you swap to a J32A2 head, High Comp pistons notched for the larger valves, PNP + 3 angle valve job with double springs and titanium retainers ..... not to mention all bolt-ons, fuel upgrades and tuning.
