hey I have a 1997 Honda accord sedan.... I am currently in search for a new motor and transmission. What motors will fit in the car. I am also looking for something that is better on performance

 

Personally I would put in there what was supposed to be in there. That would be the best way to avoid problems. As far as performance goes there are always options on everything, just depends how deep you want to look and how much $$ you want to spend. Direct replacement would be 96 & 97 if you have a 4-cyl. 95-96-97 if you have a V-6. Same model (LX/EX). If you want to swap for something more powerful, look over in Engine/Internal & search for threads about H22 swaps.

If you have a V6 you're kinda stuck because the whole front clip is different. Longer hood, etc. The V6 may as well have been called something different, not Accord.
