Need Opinions
I have a '91 Accord EX, F22A4 engine. My engine was running hot, but not overheating, so I checked under the hood and both upper and lower radiator hoses were flat. So, I changed the radiator cap and checked the fluid. This fixed the hose problem. I then took it to the shop for maintenance to double-check the rad and they told me the water pump is leaking and oil is leaking around the timing case. And, I could have possibly damaged the head gasket when I over heated about a year ago.
This is where I need help. Should I replace the water pump and timing case so they can do a pressure test to see if the head gasket is blown? Is it easy for a weekend mechanic to replace the head gasket? Any info is appreciated. Thanks. |
RE: Need Opinions
yea you should just never let your honda overheat. as soon as the needle goes over the 3/4 mark shut it down and have it put on a flat bed.. yea get everything fixed... you may have also warped the head
