Hey guys new to jap cars, first honda, a 2000 honda accors, 2.4 5spd



firat questions, what are my engine options ??? in the DOHC head for the 2.3 block ?? if i am swapping engines, does or is there a better tranny for available, i know honda's are pretty interchangeable so let me know, and i dont mind to read but some times it hard to find, so can anyone help me out with some sites where i can read up on swaps, and the building of those engines, pls any help would be helpful

welcome!!! You have an F23 motor, either an A1 (normal) or A4 (ULEV stamped on the valve cover). It's a pretty solid engine ..... I'm assuming that you have an auto tranny since you want to swap it. AT to MT is a costly upgrade, but has been done. Not worth the $$$ IMO. If you need a hand with upgrades, please do a search first and then feel free to ask any questions that come to mind. There are a lot of knowlegable members here and I think that this is one of the best online communities that I've seen. Look around, read, learn, find out answers and have fun! All we really ask is that there is no profanity and no hating other members. ..... and if you want to sell anything on here, have a picture handy.

HE has a manual 5spd. IF you want something dohc with godd displacement, h22a is you best path. There is a h23 but there much more expemnsive if there vtec. a h22 wont be a directswap in. But i think the f20b dohcis more of a better fit. Have you thought about turboing you current f23, if tuned and upgraded right ive seen them become really great performers. The stock motor can handle 8psi very safely as a dialy driver. But iave heard of people putting 10-12psi.

true .... I missed that ... the F23 can handle much more pressure than that! I'd say more like 16-18 psi and close to 400 HP. A turbo is going to cost less than the H22a swap and the sleeves are better on the F motor. If you really want the H22 head for its airflow, I'd recommend a H22 head on a G23 build. For the best of both worlds, do the G23 like that then put on a 10psi turbo. The cast iron F sleeves can take a lot more abuse than the FRM sleeves of the H22.
