obx throttle body spacer???

Does anyone know anything about the quality of the obx throttle body spacer that fits on a 1996 accord? It selling for like $50 on ebay so its not a bad price if it adds the horsepower it says it does. Also does anyone know if the street performance throttle body spacer will fit on 1996 accord non vtec version and if it is worth the money?

i doubt u can gain much with this mod...its good if you have intake headers and exhaust just to compliment

Here is a pretty good opinion from a guy who put one on a 6th gen accord:

Hope this helps.

RE: obx throttle body spacer???

The idea for throttle body spacers goes back to carb engines. On a carb engine (called a carburator plate or spacer) it would usually be made of a less heat conductive material. The idea behind it (and it worked on carb's) was that the carb wouldn't be bolted to the motor so it wouldn't get as hot and thus be delivering more of a cold fuel and increase power/economy. On today's vehicles heat in the throttle body may still be a minor factor but that heat isn't coming from the intake. It's for that reason that they really don't do anything but make a neat (sometimes annoying) sound. So basically it's like the other guy stated. If you want a neat noise then buy one, if you want actuall gains then buy something else.

the only use of spacers is having one thats made for n2o injection, beyond that there are no gains in having it unless you want to shift over your intake an inch.

i dunno about the OBX one, the the Helix design is supposed to swirl the air for better fuel atomization. like a sturdy "tornado". who knows if it works as advertised, but as far as gains go, only a dyno can answer that.

they still don't do anything, even with the "swirl" and in some cases because it's not a smooth airflow can be worse. If you want a neat sound buy one, otherwise just walk away and spend your money on a SRI
