Which oil?

I recently purchased an 05 Accord Coupe V6. I have around 2,500 miles and am trying to decide which brand of oil to use. I am thinking Castrol or Penzoil. Any opinions on this? I am not able to get the oil changed at a Honda dealership as the closest one is about 50 miles from where I live. What brand filter should I use?

Thanks!

RE: Which oil?

If you want to use dino oil (non synthetic) there are a couple that stand above the rest. One is Texaco Havoline, the other is Motorcraft (Ford). Your car calls for 5W20 but 5W30 can be used without harm.
Honda filters can be purchased online (Specify made by Filtech). Purolator, Wix, Hastings, and Wal Mart's brand - Supertech are all good. Fram is the last choice.

Frankly all of the current oils, regardless of brand are good. You'ld be hard pressed to find a bad one.

I have a 1993 with 143,500 miles on it, what weight should I use for it? will it be the same (5W30) as for new cars?

Thanks in advance!!!!

RE: Which oil?

The new Hondas specify 5W20.

Since you have 140K+ I would continue using whatever brought it that far along.
