Oil change

I am planning to change my oil sooner,

I don't know what is the right kind of oil to use.

Others say use synthetic others say standard oil.

My car is a 1994 honda accord LX 4 doors sedan

Help!

Kind of a debate, as you can tell by the different things you've been told already.

All I will say is use the proper weight oil (I believe 5w-30 for your car, double check me) with the correct API rating.

Synthetic oil should allow you to go longer before changing oil. But getting your oil analyzed will tell you how much longer. And then, even if you don't count the $$ for oil analysis, the synthetic is more expensive so it might not save any money anyway.

Do you live in northern Canada where extreme low temperature will give the advantage to synthetic oil?

I always use synthetic. Maybe overkill, but it can't hurt and might help.

It's similar to buying premium gas when regular is design spec. It doesn't hurt anything but your wallet.

good luck
