RE: oil in my muffler

are you burning or losing oil? Keep an eye on your oil level and make sure that it stays constant.... white smoke in the morning is typically just due to condensation and at times that condenastion mixes with the exhaust junk and can look like dark oil... if you aren't burning or using oil at all though then I wouldn't worry about it.... White smoke is normal, blue smoke is bad....

RE: oil in my muffler

It sounds like you are burning oil. The smoke may look white but it is really a gray or blue. This could very well be the valve seals. Does the smoke go away once the car is warmed up? Does it do it when you hit the gas? It could also be worn piston rings and oil is getting burnt in the combustion chamber. Check your cylinder pressure too, to rule the ringsout.
