Performance brake question
Hey guys,
any suggestions for performance brakes for a 2003 Accord? I'm looking for an entirely new kit to switch out the stock ones. Thanks |
ive always heard
Brembo Gran Turismo is good. Stoptech is also pretty good i believe. But in my opinion, brembo is the way to go

Jason thank you for the reply. I am still new to the after-market parts sector. One thing I find really troubling is that locally no dealerships wants to touch after-market parts. Also the shops that sell the parts don't want to recommend a garage to put them on. Whats a good way to finding a good garage?
Also would just changing the braking system mess up other parts of my car ? like the suspension? I currently do not have the money to change the suspension kit. |
Nahh you can do the brakes just fine without hurting anything else.
Seriously brakes are NOT hard to do yourself. You just got to have patience. Although I'm not sure how easy it is to get the rotors off on a 2003 Accord. JimBlake has one though so hopefully he can advise. For reference: I had never done brake pads or rotors before recently (I had changed a Master Cylinder though). Anyway a few months ago I changed the pads and rotors on my 2000 LX for the first time and it only took about an hour. Brembo is the aftermarket brand I always hear about. |
Rotors on a 2003 come off & on using EXACTLY the same procedure as Jon's 2000...
Easy, unless you live where they put salt on the roads. You might have to use some PB Blaster or Kroil or something like that. |
Wilwood makes some good kits as well.
Also should get stainless steel lines if you are looking to spend big $. |

To the OP: The Wilwood and Brembo Gran Turismo kits mentioned are big brake kits that replace rotors and calipers. I think that you are either looking for upgraded pads or maybe rotors as well, but I doubt that you want a BBK. For pads, I prefer Hawk HPS .... good blend of performance and low dust.
