of course! better octane rating, better performance! though, if not into performance, i don't think there's much of a difference.

If your car is rated for 87 octane and is running correctly that's all it needs. Spending more for higher octane is a total waste of money and doesn't do squat.
Using the SEARCH feature here are the hits on octane, read up:

when it comes to gas, in my opinon, as long as you dont use discount gas stations' gas, then your good, cuz i only use shell, i would drive the extra few blocks to find a shell station, though i already past by a chevron lol

but the bottom line is, i dont get gas from "quickstop gas" lol ,

Actually, higher octane gas produces less power with our cars. Higher octane means more resistance to ignition which means that it burns slower. Our cars have very conservative timing, so if you run higher octane than what's recommended, you are just spraying more unburned gas out of the engine to burn on the cat.

Don't waste your money. as has been said above, our cars were made to run on 87 octane. Anything higher is a waste of money. If you really want to spend extra money donate that extra $0.30 per gallon you would have spent on gas to the needy.

Octane designates how fast the fuel burns. The higher the octane the SLOWER it burns, thus performance will decrease. However, it also prevents knocking, in high compression, high-revving, and boosted engines.
