"Side Airbag Off" warning light.

2011 Honda Accord EX

I accidentally left the passenger side window cracked and it rained over night. The "Side Airbag Off" warning light, underneath the speedometer, is now on. If I sit in the passenger seat, the light goes out, but when I get out of the seat the warning light comes back on. There is nothing blocking any of the sensors and there is nothing under the seat. What could be causing the problem and can the sensor be reset?

Thank you,
Rodney

I am having the same issues does anyone have any ideas about this?

I had problems (windows not working) after leaving window down on 07 Accord. I left window down where it would ventilate and allowed to dry. Problems went away.

It might help to remove door panel and direct a good fan air stream onto the door parts.

good luck

I have the same issue on my 2006 Accord. The door was left slightly cracked (was on the latch but not completely shut) in a rainstorm - my son was apparently playing around with it. The interior definitely got wet.

Now the "Side Air Bag Off" label is lit.

Where is the sensor located (in the seat or in the door)?

Moisture and air bags don't mix. That is one of the reasons for recall of the Tacata air bags. Moisture from air in southern states could cause excess energy release when bag is actuated.

It may be that air bag has a moisture sensor that once set can never be reset. You may need professional help; Honda service or a good body shop.

good luck

Well, I most likely need professional help.

Oh - you meant with the CAR! Apparently it dried out or something because the light was out when I drove it to lunch. It's sunny here so I am going to leave the windows cracked this afternoon and let it dry out completely.

Thanks.

Put a dehumidifier in the car on passenger seat close all windows shut all doors and it wil suck all the moisture out even make car smell nice.and next morning fixed you save about $800
