Is it time for a new transmission? 1998 4-cylinder Ex
I own a 1998 4-cylinder 2.3L Accord EX, and I've been having the problem of the car slipping at around 10-40 mph, the car jerking when switching from R to D and D to R, and the car jerking when coming to a complete stop. The check engine light is also on.
The jerking when coming to a complete stop happend a while ago in the mornings usually and it'll be fine the whole day. The slipping started occurring after a failed smog test. The workers there told me to replace my TPS and I did and for a couple weeks I had no problems whatsoever. But the check engine light came on and It's been hell since. Currently, if I turn the car on and off a couple times, there will be no jerk when switching from R to D or vice versa and the car would run pretty smooth for a while. But sometimes the problem wouldn't fix at all. What can be the problem? Am I in need of a new tranny? All your comments are appreciated. |
Do some research on google and you will find you are in the same boat as thousands of others. Check out the warranty info on the tranny problem.

How many miles, maintenance history on the tranny, and did you pull the code(s)?
