Timing Chains these days?? or still belts...
I am looking at buying a 2008 Accord. Are the current Accords coming with a timing chain or a belt? I still haven't decided between a 6 cylinder or a 4 cylinder yet. If Honda has started putting chains in these cars, what Year did this start??
Thanks!
Thanks!
As stated above, Timing Chains started in 03 on the 4cyl models. I also think the V6 models still have a belt. I have never been told otherwise anyway
Hehe...this would be a good question to ask the salesman. If he doesn't know (he should find out for you), I would ask the service department at the dealership.

Which I4 are you looking at? They offer a 2.0L R-series and 2 2.4l K-series motors, along with the J35 V6. Both K-series should have a chain, the J35 has a belt and the R-series is questionable... it's from the Civic Si
I was looking at the EX 4-cyl which I believe is 190HP or the V6. I really like the idea of a timing chain instead of a belt. I wish they had a chain on the V-6.....
