Torquing head

I have the torque specs for my f22b1. I've never assembled a head but i've watched it done. It says 72.3 final torque. I've been told for every inch you have away from the drive you lose 3lbs of torque. So do I set it 3lbs higher for every inch longer the socket? And what procedures do i need to take after running and warming up the engine on a fresh head job?

That correction is only for crows-foot wrenches. If you're using a socket, even with a straight extension, you don't apply any correction. As long as the centerline of the bolt lines up directly with the centerline of the square driver of the torque wrench, you're OK.

FWIW, the correction is more complicated than simply 3 lbs for every inch...
