Tranny leak

If this question has been asked before im sorry but i am leaking transmission fluid and it is spraying all over the underside of my car and also getting burned off by the exhaust. I believe it might be coming from the axel but i can not be 100% sure. What might be causing this, what do i need to fix it, and how hard is it to replace.

RE: Tranny leak

it's quite possible that your half shaft (axle) seal is bad, to verify that you'd want to clean up the tranny, fill the fluid, then start the car and let it get up to temp, rev the engine a few times then look and see if you can find a leak, if no leak then slowly back up, then slowly drive forward and then check, you may want/need to do that a few times (if you drive to fast it will just spray it all over the place and you'll never find it for certain)

Automatic tranny... Check for leaks at the hoses going to/from the radiator. If it's 'spraying' then you want to look at placeswhere youhave higher pressure.

My 95 Accord, ex, 2.2, auto is doing the same thing. I just replaced the axles and now have to go back and replace the seal,~$8.
