tranny leak???
 

changed oil yesterday (mileage at 30k) and noticed all sorts of fluid on tranny. this happened before at around 10k and I brought it to the dealer. they said there was no problem found. they even used the pink dye to check for leaks but again no problem found. they basically cleaned it up and it was fine until I noticed it yesterday. The tech at the dealer said sometimes the pressure builds up near the bushings and some fluid could spray out but this looks like it's coming from other places as well. here's the catch: I'm not losing any fluid, well, any significant amounts accoding to the dipstick fill circles. gonna bring in to the dealer today.

now you said you had fluid on the tranny but what it tranny fluid? it has a very distinct smell much different that motor oil.

Hello,

I discovered that my tranny was coated with motor oil NOT transmission fluid. I have not found out the source yet. I think that the valve cover may be leaking but I could not map an oil trail from the valve cover over to the tranny??

*The bottom of the actual oil pan was oil free - although I could see oil at the oil pan mounting seam.

hmm well if your car only has 10k on it have a different dealership look at it. sounds like your dealership sucks. please let us know what dealership you have been going to so we all know never to go there thanks
