tranny oil change

Just a quick question to people that change their own tranny fluid. I have an 01 accord EX 4cyl SULEV Auto. I tried changing the tranny fluid today by tryin to remove the drain bolt on the bottom. Can you remove that bolt by some hand tools (3/8 ratchet)or do you need to use some air tools? I had such a hard time just tryin to get it to budge, but no luck. Any help would be great? Also would i fill the tranny with new tranny fluid though the transmission dip stick? or is there a fill plug, because i cant seem to find it.

I had to use a cheater pipe on a 3/8" breaker bar. It snapped with a loud bang when it came loose.

And YES, you fill the auto-tranny thru the dipstick hole.

Man, I had the same problem....this is what worked for me. I bought a longer 3/8's ratchet and let it hang perpindicular to the ground. Took a hammer and put it cross wise to the ratchet and pulled as hard as I could using both hands and it snapped. That thing was a bugger to get off! Also, not to insult you or anything (i've done it in the past) make sure you are doing left loosey.

Most hardware & parts stores that sell sockets would alsohave breaker bars. Occasionally you'll break the ratchet mechanism if you use a pipe.

PS... Make absolutely sure the car is supported so you don't toppleit off the stands when you pull on this.
