Transmission Shifting Issues
I have a 93 Accord 4dr with the 4speed Automatic in it. when you are at crusing speeds at 55mph, the transmission shifts odd. When you have your foot completly off the pedal the engine runs at about 2500rpms, then when you press on the pedal about 1/4th the way down the transmission shifts up and the rmps go to 2200. Then if you keep pressing at about 1/2 throttle the transmission shifts again and the rpms go back up to 2500-2700. What would cause this to happen when you let completly of the throttle. It seems like the torque converter is locking back up after you let the throttle up. Then unlocking after you press the pedal a little.

RE: Transmission Shifting Issues
Anyone have ideas about this?

RE: Transmission Shifting Issues
Sounds like the throtle pressure cable is a little out of adjustment.

RE: Transmission Shifting Issues
Now, is this the cable that goes from the pedal to the throtle body or the one that goes from the throtle body to the transmission? I have adjusted the slack out of the pedal to throtle body cable.

RE: Transmission Shifting Issues
Chiovnidca,
You were correct about the throttle pressure cable, after I figured out which one it was. I adjusted all the play out, and everthing shifts great. Still has some slip when going into 3rd but haven't changed fluid yet. |
RE: Transmission Shifting Issues
Yea, it's the one that goes to the trans, but you allready know that. Glad you got it figured out.
