transmission slip after brake
'93 accord se auto, 160k
My transmission has no problem when I accelerate from a dead stop. However, after I brake to go over a speed bump or come around a corner, the engine revs and I have no power briefly after putting my foot back on the gas. If I wait a few seconds (2? 4?) after coming around the corner before giving it gas, I can generally avoid this. I should say that I am about to replace my front engine mount, which has gotten sloppy, and there is an aftermarket tranny filter on the cooling line. Had the rear engine mount replaced recently. Thx to all who read. J |
How does your tranny fluid look?
Proper level? Clean? Dirty? Brown? Smell burnt? Genuine Honda ATF or some other Dexron fluid? When did you last change it? |
The fluid is red (as usual?). Haven't noticed smell, level is ok. I am not sure if I reminded my mechanic to use honda fluid... I will drain it myself and use the 35 dollar stuff. It has been less than 30k since last flush.

Lotsa people like to change it every 30k so it might be due. If it's been a LOT less than 30k, then maybe take a closer look at it. That was just something to check since I didn't know how long it's been in there.

yah, it has probably been about 15k tops. I bought it at 118k and had it done immediately, then had it done last year at about 155k

whoops... bad math... more like 5k on new fluid
