use synthetic or regular oil?

in the past i have used regular 5w20 oil (changed at the honda dealer) and i was wondering if there there would be any benefit to using synthetic oil. i have a 2.3L 4cyl 2001 accord ex coupe. i used the search function first and none of the threads there answer this question, but i kind of got the idea synthetic is better. the only mods are a CAI and ngk double platinum spark plugs (if that counts). the engine has 91k miles on it. the temperature here ranges from 50F to 90F, so no extreme temperatures. i know that with synthetic your change interval can be longer, but i want to know if there will be any difference in the way the engine performs.

No noticeable difference, but over time you can tell. I'm at 195K on my 99 and it's only seen Mobil1 full synth and still loves to rev high. I'm going to do a compression test when it's warmer out.

Hmm, well that answer my question about synthetic oil; however, for my first oil change I just bought the standard Castrol GTX (5W20) and a Bosch oil filter. Maybe next time I'll do the Syn Mobil 1 and a Purolator oil filter.
