Why wouldnt i waste my money? lol

My vtec as it sits now only kicks in at 50 or 55 mph, so id like to be able to kick it in alot sooner.

VTEC engagement depends on RPM not MPH. falkore24 has one in his 2000 V6 accord so wait for him to reply.

What makes you think that I'm going to see this thread ..... or reply for that matter?

I have an Apexi controller. They are universal for any variable timing engine that is not an iVTEC. I've heard of others as well, but I think that Apexi has the only one with a plug-and-play harness. It was really nice of them to make that a few months AFTER I installed mine!

RE: VTEC Controller

How can you put a VTEC controller in a car that doesn't have VTEC?
THe 5th gen V6 was a NON-VTEC motor with a crappy 4speed auto tranny that produced 170hp out of a 2.7L motor

Starting with the 6th gen V6 was when VTEC was available for a V6 Accord. In that car, VTEC engaged about 3500RPM's
In the 6th gen 4cyl, there was no standard VTEC engagement point. It can engage as early as 4500 RPM's an as late as 5200RPM's depending upon, oil pressure, load, speed, RPM's

RE: VTEC Controller

before I installed my controller, I don't think VTEC ever hit earlier than 4200 rpm. good point on the 5th gen V6 ... I did not know that it isn't a VTEC ..... never really looked into them.
