VTEC swap vs. new valves

I'm told I have at least one bent valve. I was wondering if anyone whohad valves replaced could give me an idea how much it would cost if I am taking the head to a machine shop.

I'm also considering swapping in a VTEC instead, is there anyone who did this? If I understand correctly, it's pretty much: bolt on the head, replace ECU, add two wires for solenoid, use longer EX timing belt, and replace 1 or 2 vacuum lines. Am I close?

Also need to consider that I was hoping to sell it within the next year to get an EX. Would a VTEC swap hurt or help the resale value?

What would you do?

i think with any kind of swap, the value of the car decreases.

I doubt anyone would even notice if you did it should you ever resell the car or trade it in. Swap heads. Make sure you use ARP head studs

I just spoke to a machine shop and they said it would be at least $250. They would have to completely disassemble the head even for one valve. So I'm really leaning towards the VTEC swap.

If I get the wiring harness from a f22b1 with the head and ECU, would I still have anything else to worry about?

I dont think so, that should all pretty much take care of it.

I'm looking at some stuff on ebay, I found an ecu from a 95 ex but it says it's for an automatic transmission. I was under the impression that the ecu had nothing to do with the transmission, at least on this gen accord.

I'm thinking I could actually piece this together, as in get the head and run it without hooking up the VTEC. Then I could come back to it later with the ecu etc... Sound right?

I got the head off and it's worse than I thought, every piston has valve impressions on them. Should I just go with engine replacement at this point?Would the pistons be ok or would this affect the compression?
