Will this destroy the tranny?
Im 16, so what can i say, enjoy driving and stuff. I have a 1992 Accord lx, and i picked up a new habit, i dont know if it is bad or not. The car has P, R, N, D4, D3, 2, 1 gears on the shifter. Ive started to put it in 1 at a stop light, when i turns green i goo, not too fast but reasonably quickly, then when the tach gets to about 6 K revs, i put it in 2, then i do the same, then when it gets to 6 K revs, i put it in d3, then after a little bit more in D4, will this destroy my tranny. The car has 161 K miles on it, and its all i have, so im being very meticulous in its care and stuff, and was wondering if that will break the tranny. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yes !! what a stupid thing to do!!
if you want to shift gears yourself - buy a manual car , otherwise dont abuse the car ok?! |
RE: Will this destroy the tranny?
First off 6k is a little high for daily driving, secondly I ahve heard it weakens the head gaskets. My friend does it in his diamante and he has gone through 3 head gaskets.
