I have a 02 accord se vtec 2.3 with 126k miles it started kinda puffing or poping or whatever it's called at idle after it's driven a little we have put new plugs oil change cleaned erg and fuel injectors no help at all it has between 150 and 160 psi compression on all 4 cylinders no check engine light is on we used auto lite platinum plugs

 

I have no experience with auto lite plugs. Most people recommend NGK brand or Denso brand plugs for Honda vehicles. Take a look at the sticker under the hood or the owner's manual for the proper plug.

Since the problem remains, the plugs are not likely the problem. Please give more detail about the problem. Does this happen right after the car reaches operating temperature? Not sure what you mean by puffing/popping. Does it happen at a certain rpm, speed, or gear?

You may want to stop by a parts store and have them check for codes anyway. Some transmission codes would not cause the D4 light to flash on older hondas. This may be the case with your 02 accord as well.

 

It's like a really bad missfire new plugs dis cap and rotor cleaned injectors replaced egr and fuel pump strainer and it only does it once it reaches operating temperature put a scanner on it no codes at all of any kind

 

What cylinders are misfiring; all (P0300) or specific cylinder code (P0301-P0304).

Suggest first confirming that all 4 spark leads are firing using an old spark plug grounded to frame and testing each lead.

I'm not sure I dint have any codes light is off and it DoD happen after we put that Lucas trans stuff in the trans it's the vtec engine if that helps 2.3 4 cylinder
