02 leaking PS pump cover
 

It's leaking exactly like in the picture below that I found online. I found a TSB for 5th gen Accords with this exact problem and the remedy was to replace the pump cover seal. The TSB calls for removing the pump off the car but is this necessary? Can't I just remove the 4 flange bolts and swap out the seal?

I also have a leak where the return hose meets the cooler line below the reservoir so I'm also going to take care of that. Interestingly, the pump isn't noisy and the fluid isn't foamy. I guess the pump hasn't started sucking in air...yet.

The seal is easy to replace. It can be done on the car. Loosen the two mounting bolts, remove tension from belt, slide belt off, rotate pump up, re-tighten mounting bolts, remove cover, clean and replace seal, then re-install in reverse. By having the mounting bolts tight when removing the cover it allows for better leverage on the cover bolts if you do the repair with hand tools. If you are using air tools you might just want to release the belt tension and remove the cover.

A couple of suggestsion. Clean exterior surface thoroughly w/ brake cleaner before opening case. Place a heavy rag or paper towels under the PS pump to catch the fluid loss and prevent oil soaking the alternator.
