02 LX v6 p1298 stored but no check engine light

Hi I have a lx coupe that has a sputter/hesitation at around 3500-4000 rpm. Almost as if the trans is slipping. I scanned for codes just in case, and found a p1298 stored. i looked at the fuse in the ip fuse box. its good. Im at a brick wall and dont even know if the sputtering has to do with the eld or not...Someone please help!

Check whether the no. 6 (15A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse box is blown.

Its good.

Will this code cause that symptom I described?

Finally got another code to store, also rough idle after a long crank. P0336. Are these sensors cut and dry? Usually if the code sets its the sensor?

P1298 = electrical load detector

P0336 = crankshaft position sensor

Each code isn't a guarantee that it's a bad sensor. A dirty/loose/corroded wiring connection can also cause these codes.

I would think the ELD cannot cause the sputterring. It's job is simply measuring the electrical loads so your ECU can decide when to shut down the alternator.
