03 Accord EX-L P0430 code

I am in texas and we had a 40 degree change in temperature today. P0430 code comes up from autozone. I bought it on Saturday. It has 116000 miles on it. I am thinking about replacing all 02 sensors to try this first. This is the only code that came up. Oil is clean and does not smell. I have driven it about 200 miles. I am going to seafoam or run several tanks of techron through it too as I know it can be from fuel. How sensitive are the 02 sensors?

Any ideas?

Also passenger window button will roll the window down but it automatically goes back up. only with the passenger switch and it does not work every time. Sometime it takes 3 pushes to get it to react at all. Driver's button controls it flawlessly. Any ideas on this one?

There is one primary Air/Fuel Sensor ($$) and two secondary (aft of cat) O2 sensors. Replacing these is unlikely to fix your problem. You would be better off spending money on a bolt-in replacement converter.

There are extensive diagnostics to confirm converter efficiency is the problem. See honda shop manual (automanualsource.com download for $22).

I would return to the seller and ask for a credit (cost of OEM converter is $500 + shipping) as this problem did not suddenly appear. It was there when car was sold. Code was reset and car sold to you. Firm but polite insistence may get results.

good luck

I have already been in communication and they seem to be cooperative so far but are looking to replace with aftermarket. I know I need a honda. I am using polite cooperation at this point but may move to the next level.

Aren't bad catalytic converters a sign of fuel or oil getting into the exhaust? Would it not be a good idea to change my 02 sensors as well? I don't understand this process very well. It has 116,000 on it and I plan on running it well past 200,000.

Any other recommendations...fuel cleaners, etc...?

A bad converter can happen due to poor maintenance; spark plugs old leading to excessive missing that is not promptly attended; unmetered fuel leaks due to fuel injector problems or faulty fuel pressure regulator.

It would help to look at the DTC event capture data; long term fuel trim, short term fuel trim, etc to see if these suggest a possible fault that might contribute to converter failure.

good luck
