'03 Accord Radio Display Lights

Hello there - I am pretty desperate here and really hope one of you guys can help me out.

I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX Coup and the other day I hit something on the built in radio and made all the display lights for the Radio area go off (no clock, or AM/FM station, CD display) - however the radio still worked, and all the important gauges were still lit (speed, RPM's, etc...)

I initially thought it must be a short, but I checked the fuse for the radio and it was not blown, I didn't see any other fuses for display lights or whatever so I have not checked every single fuse to see if one is blown. Of course, since I disconnected the radio fuse the anti-theft radio system was activated and the radio no longer works at all (I need to input a code, but I can't see the display to do so.)

Any ideas here guys? I didn't press anything werid, just the volume or power button or something (don't remember exactly) when the lights went out. I had it suggested to me that I just turned down the brightness of the display accidentilly and this makes sense because in the proper lighting I can just make out some writing/text on the display area...but if this is the case I can't figure out via the manuel how to reverse the effect.

I have a really long drive tomorrow and I do not want to do it with no music. Please Help!!!

~Angie

there isa 7 year/100,000 mile warranty on the radio/climate display backlight going out at the dealer, any dealer. they may have to order the part necessary to repair your car though. you should still be able to enter your radio code.
the display is just really really dim. you can still see the info if you look hard most the time. start entering your code. if the speakers beep3 times at you in the middle of the code, start over from the beginning - don't finish the rest of the code.

As always Hondatech is on the money!

Call 1-800-999-1009 and mention bulletin #04-027. They will ask what dealership you're going to take your car to, and have a representative from that dealership call you within 48 hours to set up an appointment.
