05 accord issues?
Hey folks new guy here with a few questions:
I'm looking at an '05 Honda accord LX special edition 4cyl. 5 speed with 117k for $7.000 and have some concerns as I've never before owned a Honda. So far from what I have researched, stretched timing chains can be an issue? anything else to look out for? Really not that confident on the recent Honda's, is it worth the chance? thanks folks! That generation of Accords are solid. The K24 engine was a great leap forward from the F series of years past. I personally haven't heard anything about stretched timing chains. And can't go wrong with a 5 speed.
Can't say for sure if the price is good but it seems pretty good. |

The stretched chain issue is mainly with people that don't change their engine oil frequently or let the oil level get too low and for too long.

thanks for the replies so far, keep 'em coming
just looked up the clutch replacement cost , around $2000! |
Where did you get that from? Shouldn't be any different than any other Honda.

A 2005 Accord is a 7th generation.

oops, thanks for correcting that, went back a looked again, dealer wanted $2.000, he had it done for $1200 at a service shop on a 2005 accord.
